Overkill on Bird Flu orders

 Politicians and bureaucrats in Victoria have  panicked themselves into an absurd ‘Lock up your chickens’ order in a knee-jerk response to a handful of bird flu cases. They never learn. Previous outbreaks have been spread by staff working on multiple intensive production facilities rather than contact with wild birds in open paddocks. Chickens kept in overcrowded conditions are far more susceptible to infections than birds with plenty of space around them.
